My First Family Beach Session on Film | Malibu, CA

This was my first full family session on film!
I recently inherited an old Nikon film camera from a beloved Family member who passed too soon. All spring I had been brining it with me to my sessions, testing it out, getting familiar with not being able to check my settings as I’m shooting.
I finally felt comfortable to use it throughout this entire session. I of course still shot on my digital camera just in case something happened with the film. The thing about my film camera is that it is manual focus. It’s great for still, tender moments, but I need my faster, AF digital camera for anything with action or movement.
This was such a fun session. We saw a feeding frenzy right in front of where we were doing our session. There were dolphins, birds, and other sea creatures. The children were amazed by all the animals we saw during our session, even a few little bunnies exploring the flower field above.
